No its not nuggets. What do you guys think of the word? Do you view it as a racist derogatorry term? Does it depend on the situation or who said it? What are you're thoughts on it?

In my area people say it all the time... and it's people of all races. It's become an accepted slang word. I don't really know if its right/wrong really... I guess it depends on the context... but I know some people would take offense to it.

i think the use of the word nigga is a good example of turning something used in the past to degrade and insult into something cool and "meaningless"... eventhough we know where it came from, we're spitting in the white man's face by desensitizing it...

My parents raised me so racelessly, anybody can call me nigga now. Even the white kids. I don't care, I mean I can clearly tell that they don't mean "you're a nigger, get out the country" so what's the point. If they think it's fresh, let 'em say it. Even if they aren't cool at all. Then you can just laugh at 'em.

I am tryin to cut down on my use of it. The word has become so cliche now as mentioned by the posts.

This is a tired ass explanation that I've heard for 15 years. Everyone that gives this explanation says it exactly the same, as if they all read it out the same book. It doesn't desensitize shit. Racist white folks still use it as derogatory. In music (rap) nigga is usually derogatory also. Think about the last time you saw two black folks fight....nigga was uttered about 487 times.

I admit, when I was a younger cat, I used the word...took me years to break myself of it. Unfortunately, the word is here to stay in hip-hop.

I use the word on a dialy basis...i think in the correct terms it IS showin that were over the whole faze of it bein derogatory now i never sy "nigger" cuz even i as a white kid fins that shit offensive around blacks..but if i see a black kid i know..ill say "wutup nigga" and they dont care at all...cuz its shwoin the word has no power over peopel nemore..
